Amoeba Music opened its first store in Berkeley, California in 1990, building a reputation among vinyl collectors and used-CD hunters as an alternative to mall record chains during a decade when independent record shops were closing, not opening — a history that's part of why the store still carries weight among crate-diggers today.
The splat, drip by drip
The logo's irregular blob outline and dripping, half-melted lettering give it an amoeba-like organic shape rather than a straight-edged corporate mark — distinctive enough to be recognised from the outline alone.
Die-cut, single colour, 19 options, sized 10–55cm or 4–21in. Applied with transfer tape and peeled away once bonded — no printed background layer, so the drip detail stays sharp.
Fits record crates, guitar cases, laptop lids and music room doors. Custom sizes up to 120cm are available.
The 2-pack gives a matching pair — one for a crate, one for a case.
