The story goes that Doña Amalia Bacardí spotted a colony of fruit bats living in the rafters of the family's first distillery in Santiago de Cuba in 1862, and suggested the bat as the company's symbol, a sign of good fortune in Cuban and Spanish tradition.
This decal shows that bat filling a circle edged with a single slim ring, its wings spread so the tips almost touch the edge, the ribs and scalloped lower edges cut in fine detail and its small head with pointed ears at the top. The slim ring keeps it light and clean on a bar cart, a drinks fridge, a cocktail shaker case or a laptop.
