Like our other mid-swim design, this alligator has a raised, curved tail, but adds a jagged ridge of scutes running the full length of the spine and lifts the head clear rather than keeping it level with the body — a more textured, alert-looking swim pose.

Those bony back plates, called scutes, are a real alligator feature: they help with body armour and also play a role in absorbing and distributing heat from the sun, which is part of why alligators bask with their backs exposed. Capturing that ridge in silhouette is what separates this design from the smoother swim-pose cut elsewhere in our range.
