Is a koala a bear? No. It is a marsupial, Phascolarctos cinereus, that carries its young in a pouch and lives almost entirely on eucalyptus leaves in the forests of eastern Australia. The bear nickname stuck because of the round ears and the teddy shape, and this sticker leans into it with a chubby, cuddly outline.
The drawing is simple and graphic. Big ears with open inner rings frame a round face, the nose is a large oval left open in the vinyl, and two white eye patches give the face a sleepy look that suits an animal that can doze for up to 18 hours a day. A sprig of eucalyptus leaves hangs by its paw, and the belly and the foot pads are cut out in white.
It is a natural for a laptop lid, a water bottle, a child's room or a car window, and for anyone with a link to Australia. The two stickers mirror each other, so the koalas can sit facing in or out.
