Look at the tail first. A beaver has a flat, bare paddle; this animal has a bushy, bristled tail trailing behind and a back that bristles all the way along. That puts it firmly in porcupine territory, a slow, round-bodied rodent that defends itself with up to 30,000 quills.

The silhouette captures the animal in its usual ambling walk, head low and body humped, short legs barely visible beneath a fringe of spines. The upper edge is cut as a serrated line of tiny points, which gives the sticker its unmistakable shape even in a single colour.

One porcupine faces right and one faces left, so the pair can sit on either side of a truck bed, a camper door, a tool chest or a gate. It is a good fit for hikers, foresters and anyone who likes an animal that does not need to be polite. Black on a pale panel or white on dark glass works best.

  • Preset sizes 10–55cm or 4–21in, custom sizes up to 120cm
