A beaver's front teeth are the whole story of the animal, and this drawing makes them the centrepiece. Each head is seen from the side with the mouth gaping, two broad incisors showing and a lean, angular face that looks more like a team mascot than a pond creature.
The fur does the movement. It streams backwards from the neck in long jagged tongues separated by open gaps, so the head seems to be in motion even when stuck to a flat panel. Everything is bold outline, with solid black in the mouth and under the brow, and the pale areas are open, so whatever surface you apply it to shows through the fur.
One head looks right and the other left, which makes the pair useful on both sides of a truck bed, a canoe hull or a trailer. At 20cm each head reads clearly, and at 40cm and above the fur lines become a bold feature.
