This one goes on the horse trailer first. The back doors of a two-horse gooseneck are the classic spot, one decal each side so the barrels sit on the outer edges and both horses turn in towards the centre. After that it is the truck's rear window, the tack-room door, a saddle box lid or a water bottle for the arena.

The silhouette shows what every barrel racer knows by feel: the horse dropped onto its hocks, shoulder low, rider's weight sat back and inside hand guiding round the drum. The barrel itself is cut with its ridges and a notch of spilled dirt at the base, so the scene reads correctly even at 10cm.
