Albania's flag pairs a red field with the black double-headed eagle descended from Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg's 15th-century banner, adopted in its current form on independence in 1912. This range carries the flag across several pennant shapes rather than one fixed cut, and this version hangs from a gold arrow-tipped rod with the fabric coming to a shield point at the bottom — distinct from the swallowtail, zigzag-hem and rounded versions carried elsewhere in the range.
