Put this next to the domed gold shield and the difference is the top edge: here it is flat, with the right-hand corner dropping away slightly, and the base comes to a short, blunt point rather than a long curve. The result is a squarer, more upright crest, closer to a sports-club badge than a coat of arms.

The flag inside is the Belgian tricolour, three vertical bars of black, yellow and red, with a faint diagonal sheen across the middle. Two gold bands frame it, a bright outer rim and a darker bronze one inside, which gives a bevelled look without any extra detail to clutter the small sizes.

There is another flat-top gold shield in the range with a very slightly different slant, so choose whichever outline you like better. Both suit a kit bag, a locker, the side of a helmet or a laptop lid.

It is printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut to the shield outline with a thin clear border. Clean the surface, peel the backing and press it down from the centre outwards.
