Belgium's national holiday falls on 21 July, the day in 1831 when Leopold I took his oath as the first King of the Belgians. This sticker is built around that date: Happy National Day in curved red capitals across the top, Kingdom of Belgium in small red type, BELGIUM in heavy black letters in the middle, and a thin rule either side of 21 July at the bottom.
A ribbon in black, yellow and red swings across below the lettering, and a small flag on a pole rises behind each end of the oval, so the whole design looks like a bunting banner pinned up for a street party. The shape is wide and low, cut as a smooth oval with the flags poking out of each side.
It suits a car window in the week of the holiday, a festival or party table, a flag-day stall, or the family fridge. It is the most formal of the three national-day designs in this range, with serious sans-serif type and no decoration beyond the ribbon.
