Oktoberfest began in Munich in 1810 as a wedding celebration for the crown prince of Bavaria, and it has since grown into a beer festival of about two weeks that ends on the first Sunday of October. This sticker carries that date in a single word: Oktoberfest in flowing black brush script, tall and looping, with Beer Festival in small capitals tucked under the middle of the lettering.

Above the first O a hand-drawn German flag waves from a thin pole, with the black, red and gold stripes inked in an engraving style. Underneath hangs a swag of triangular pennants in black, red and gold, spaced evenly along a curved line, so the whole piece looks like a festival banner strung between two posts.

It suits a beer-garden party, a home bar, a keg or a cooler, a stein, a pub door or a party invitation, and a pair lets you decorate both sides of a table or a window. The sticker is printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut round the lettering and pennants.

Clean the surface, peel the backing and press down from the centre outwards.
