Akrapovič was founded in Ivančna Gorica, Slovenia in 1990 by Igor Akrapovič, initially as a specialist manufacturer of aftermarket motorcycle exhausts. The company grew rapidly on the strength of its titanium and carbon fibre construction, at a time when titanium exhaust technology was largely confined to factory racing teams, and today Akrapovič exhausts are fitted across MotoGP, World Superbike and a growing range of performance road cars.

This badge — the full red-and-yellow wordmark alongside a "25 Years" anniversary oval — marks the milestone rather than promoting one specific exhaust range.
