APR — full name Audi Performance & Racing — was founded in Opelika, Alabama in 1997 by engineers Brett Augsburger and Stephen Hooks, starting with an ECU software upgrade for the 1997 Audi A4 1.8T before expanding into exhaust and turbocharger systems. This decal reproduces APR's red-and-black "APR MOTORSPORT" wordmark, printed full colour. A die-cut single-colour version of the same APR wordmark, without the fixed red-and-black print colourway, is sold separately in this range. Its first product, an ECU software upgrade for the 1997 Audi A4 1.8T, set the pattern the company has followed since: engineering upgrades one platform generation at a time rather than a scattershot catalogue.
