For three years, from 2011 to 2013, the streets around Baltimore's Inner Harbor were closed each Labor Day weekend for the Grand Prix of Baltimore, a temporary course of a little over two miles run by IndyCar and sports-car fields. This decal is that layout traced as one thick, continuous line: the long straight along the top, a tight hook at the western end, and the inner loop that doubled the cars back past the harbour.
The outline has slightly uneven line weight, as if drawn with a marker, which gives it a hand-sketched feel rather than a technical-drawing one. Fans who were there put it on a helmet, a toolbox, a pit-cart or the rear quarter glass of a daily driver, and collectors of track maps add it to a row of circuit outlines along a garage wall.
It is cut from a single colour of vinyl with no background, so the track floats on whatever surface it is applied to. Choose from 19 colours; keep the transfer tape flat on the long straight so the line stays true.
