How little does it take to draw an owl? This design answers with a round, nearly square body, two very large eyes and a short pointed beak. There are no feather lines and no branch, just a chunky shape that is recognisable at once, even at thumbnail size.
The eyes are the whole personality. Each is a big white disc with a black pupil set slightly off-centre and a small white highlight dot, which makes the owl look as if it is glancing sideways. The ear tufts are two small points on the top corners, and the wings are drawn as short feathered tips at each side.
It is a good size for small, busy surfaces: laptop lids, phone cases, notebook covers, lunch boxes, water bottles, school lockers and the corner of a car window. Larger, it makes a fun shape for a child's door or wall, and the clean outline is simple to apply with transfer tape.
