Most dog stickers show the animal standing. This one sits, which changes what it is good for: it looks like a waiting dog, and a waiting dog belongs by a door. The pair is mirrored, one facing left and one facing right, so you can set them either side of a front door, a gate, a back-door glass panel or a kennel entrance and have them looking in towards each other.

The outline is soft and rounded, a little like a puppy. The head tips up, the ear hangs in a single fold, the chest is full, the front legs stand straight and the hind leg tucks forward, with a long thin tail laid out behind on the floor. A few small white cut-outs where the paws and haunch catch the light give the black just enough detail to avoid looking flat.

It also suits a car rear window, a nursery or boot-room wall, a water bowl mat or a dog-grooming van. Black is the natural pick, but pale grey or tan looks good on a dark door.
