The hippopotamus is the third-heaviest land animal alive, behind only elephants and white rhinos, and it spends most of the daylight hours submerged in the rivers and lakes of sub-Saharan Africa with just eyes, ears and nostrils above the waterline. It secretes a reddish oily fluid that acts as its own sun protection — the origin of the old story about hippos sweating blood — and comes out to graze after dark.
None of that heft is lost in the cartoon treatment here. The silhouette keeps the proportions that make a hippo instantly recognisable: the enormous blunt muzzle taking up nearly a third of the body length, the barrel torso, the comically short legs and the small flick of a tail. The two in the pack face away from each other, so they can be set either side of a doorway, a window or a lunch box lid as a mirrored pair.

What You Get
- 2 die-cut vinyl stickers per pack
- Preset sizes 10–55cm / 4–21in, custom sizing to 120cm
- 19 colours, applied with transfer tape
Nursery and bedroom walls are the most common home for these, along with lunch boxes, water bottles, toy chests and the lower corner of a rear car window. Because they are cut from one colour there is no white border, so they sit flat against a painted wall rather than looking like a label. A rounder, kawaii-style hippo is listed separately, and there is plenty more under wildlife stickers.
