Exhaust makers of the period sold on noise as much as flow, and "sound engineered" was the phrase used to say the system had been tuned for tone rather than simply opened up. The arrow tail on the banner points back along the lettering, the standard trick for suggesting flow direction on a tailpipe decal.
The wordmark itself is set in a heavy condensed italic with the counters cut open, so it stays legible at small sizes on a rocker panel or a silencer heat shield. Everything joins into a single piece of vinyl — the banner ties the letters together, so nothing floats loose during application.
