How do you tell a black bear from a grizzly at a glance? Look at the shoulders and the face. A black bear has no pronounced hump, a straighter profile between the eyes and the nose, and taller ears, and all three are in this drawing: the back is level, the muzzle short and the ears set high on a wide skull.
The picture is inked in black with white strokes left as open vinyl along the spine, the shoulder and the front legs, where the highlights would fall, and with a pale foreleg stepping forward to give a feeling of depth. The head is held low and slightly to one side, so the face looks calm rather than aggressive.
Two stickers come in the pack, with the second drawn as the mirror image of the first, so the leading leg changes sides. It is large and detailed, which makes it a good choice for a bonnet, a trailer panel or a garage wall, and a smaller companion cut of the same art is also in the range.
