Most solid bear silhouettes have a clean, smooth contour. This one does not: along the back, the shoulder and the underside of the belly the edge is cut into short, uneven points, which reads at once as fur. It is a small change that makes the bear look alive rather than stamped out.

The body is the classic grizzly outline, long head carried low, a hump over the front legs, a deep chest and thick legs, and every foot has its claws drawn as a few fine ticks at the end of the toes. The ear is a small round bump, and the muzzle is dished with a slightly open mouth.

Because the edge is detailed, choose at least 15cm so the fur points do not lose their shape. It looks excellent on a dark truck in white or tan, on a camper's side, on a canoe or on a lodge sign. The top bear faces right and the lower one faces left.
