Cubs rarely come alone. Twin and triplet litters are common in black and brown bears, and the young stay together after they leave the den, which is why a pair side by side feels right. These two press together with their front legs planted, and each has a wide-eyed, slightly puzzled look.
The drawing is inked in the same open style as the grizzly in the range, with pale fur left as gaps and contoured with thick black lines, dark shading in the chest and the shadows between the cubs, and a broken branch at their feet. The faces are the focus: the eyes are clear, the muzzles short, the ears round.
It suits a child's room, a nursery door, a camper window or a schoolbag, and it is a gentler choice than the snarling bears in the same range. One scene has the taller cub on the left and the other has it on the right, so you can mirror them either side of a doorway.
