This is the national coat of arms, not the flag: a shield showing a rising sun over a blue-and-white sea and a stylised sugar mill, topped by a pineapple crest and flanked by two deer standing on their hind legs, with the motto "Each Endeavouring, All Achieving" on a ribbon underneath.

Every element is a real national symbol. The deer represent the only large wild animal native to the Eastern Caribbean and unique to Antigua and Barbuda; the pineapple is the Antigua Black Pineapple, a real local export; the sugar mill nods to the islands' historic sugar industry. Designed by Gordon Christopher in 1966 and formally adopted on 16 February 1967, with the motto composed by civil servant James H. Carrot.
