Italian plates carry a narrow coloured tab at each end, and this design borrows that shape outright — a portrait rectangle with softly rounded corners, stacked in horizontal bands. Reading down: the six-legged dog on a yellow field, a solid green stripe, the inline Agip wordmark on white, and a red stripe closing the bottom. Green, white and red are the Italian tricolore, split across the panel rather than run as three vertical stripes.

It is the only Agip design in the range built to portrait proportions. Everything else in the family is a landscape bar, a square tile or a shield, which makes this one useful where the space available is taller than it is wide — a fork leg, a number board edge, a door pillar, the upright of a pit board.
