The Aeronca Chief is the Champ's stablemate and the easy way to tell them apart is the seating — the Chief sits two side by side, the Champion seats them in tandem. Both wear a brush-script nameplate on the fuselage, and this is the Chief's: a compact word with a swept crossbar on the C and a long descender running out from the f.

Cut as a single shape, so the joins between letters travel with the word rather than needing to be lined up individually. One sticker to each side of the fuselage is the usual fit; the same script also works well on a hangar wall, a headset case or a workshop cabinet.

Clean the panel with isopropyl alcohol before starting, tack one end down, then squeegee along the word and peel the tape back on itself at a shallow angle.
