Rallye Deutschland earned its reputation for being three rallies bolted into one weekend. Based around Trier in the far west of Germany, it ran on the narrow tarmac lanes threading the Mosel vineyards, then moved onto the Baumholder military training area, where crews attacked concrete Panzerplatte roads lined with the kerbstones known as hinkelsteine, before finishing on ordinary country asphalt. Very few tarmac events asked a car to do three such different jobs in two days.
The event joined the World Rally Championship calendar in 2002 and stayed on it for most of the following two decades. ADAC — Germany's national motoring club — organised it, which is why the club's name leads the plate design reproduced here, sitting alongside the outlined event lettering, the yellow brush swash behind it and the black, red and gold chequer at the end.
Printed, not cut
This one is digitally printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and then trimmed to the rounded outline of the plate, so every element — the grey field, the yellow swash, the flag colours — comes through as drawn. There is no transfer tape involved: peel the backing away, position it, and press down from the centre out.
Sizes run 5–50cm / 2–20in with custom sizing to 120cm, and two come in every pack, which covers both front doors on a rally replica or one on the car and one on the tool chest. Other event and circuit designs are in the motorsport decal range.
