Why two notches instead of one? Because a double swallowtail gives the banner three points along the hem, which looks fuller and more ceremonial than the single-notch version, and the three points echo the way a real cloth banner swings when it hangs on a stage. That is the difference between this sticker and the plain swallowtail banner in this range; the rod with its gold arrow tips, the softly folded green cloth and the red disc of the Bangladesh flag are the same.
The red disc represents the sun rising over Bengal, and the green the land itself; the flag was adopted in January 1972 after the Liberation War. Banners like this hang in school halls and along streets for 21 February, when Bangladesh remembers the 1952 Language Movement, a day now marked worldwide as International Mother Language Day.
The vertical format fits a door, a window pillar, a locker or a laptop's long edge. Printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut round the rod and cloth with a narrow white border. Two identical stickers per pack.
