A banner that looks like it has been through something. The green cloth of the Bangladesh flag hangs from a rod with gold arrow tips, folds softly around the red disc, and then ends not in a neat hem but in a ragged edge, torn and frayed into uneven strips as if it has flown through monsoons and marches for years. The tear is printed, not cut; the sticker's own outline follows it with a narrow white border.
That worn look suits the story the flag tells. Bangladesh won its independence in the nine-month Liberation War of 1971, and the red disc on the green field stands for the sun of a new day and the blood of those who died for it. A tattered banner reads as hard-won in a way a crisp one does not, which is why it is popular with cricket supporters and with anyone decorating for Victory Day on 16 December.
It fits a door, a locker, a garage wall, a laptop's long edge or the rear quarter glass of a car. Printed in full colour on glossy vinyl; two identical stickers per pack.
