Which hem suits a softer room? This one. Where the other Barbados banners in this range end in points, notches or torn edges, this banner's cloth curves into a gentle semicircle at the bottom, which gives it a calmer, more decorative look, closer to a bookmark or a church pennant than a battle standard. The rod with gold arrow tips, the soft vertical folds and the trident in the gold centre band are the same as the rest of the family.
The rounded hem makes it a good choice for a child's bedroom door, a kitchen cupboard, a planner cover, a sewing box or a rum-cake tin, as well as the usual laptop lid and car window. Its height-to-width ratio matches the straight banner, so the two can be mixed on a pair of doors.
The flag's broken trident dates from independence on 30 November 1966; its three prongs stand for government of, for and by the people. Printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut round the rod and the curve with a narrow white border. Two identical stickers per pack.
