Three Barbados banners in this range end in a point, and this is the slimmest and shallowest. The cloth hangs narrow from a rod with gold arrow tips, the trident sits high in the gold centre band, and the bottom edge angles in gently to a central point, so the shape reads as a tall five-sided shield. The wide shield banner is stubbier with a thicker rod; the deep-point pennant tapers much further.
Its narrow, tall footprint suits the places a wide flag will not go: a door edge, the pillar between two windows, the side of a filing cabinet, a locker door or the corner of a laptop lid. On a car it fits the rear quarter glass neatly, and two of them, one each side, frame a rear window.
Barbados adopted this flag on 30 November 1966; the broken trident marks the break with colonial rule and its three prongs stand for government of, for and by the people. Printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut round the rod and cloth with a narrow white border. Two identical stickers per pack.
