This badge is built for the strip of bodywork between a number plate and a boot lid, the top rail of a rear window or the long edge of a laptop lid: a wide rounded rectangle with a polished gold rim, the Barbados flag filling the face with its ultramarine ends and gold centre, the black broken trident in the middle, glossy swirl highlights sweeping across the blue, and two gold ribbon tails hanging from the bottom edge.
Among the Barbados badges in this range it is the lowest and widest, closer to a name plate than a medal, so it also suits a toolbox lid, a cricket bat cover or a strip above a shop door. The gold rim and ribbons tie it to the diamond, rosette and scalloped badges for anyone collecting the set.
The flag inside dates from 30 November 1966; the broken trident marks the break with colonial rule and its three prongs stand for government of, for and by the people. Printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut round the badge and ribbons with a narrow white border. Two identical stickers per pack.
