A single-line wordmark in blackletter, the broken-pen script of medieval manuscripts and heavy-metal logos: Baphometh with a large swash capital B, tightly packed lowercase letters, and sharp spikes dropping off the p and the h like dagger points. The letterforms are dense enough that the word reads as a dark band from a distance and only resolves into letters up close.
The name plays on Baphomet, the goat-headed figure of nineteenth-century occult illustration that the heavier end of metal borrowed decades ago, and the typeface follows suit. It suits a guitar or bass case, an amp head, a laptop, the back of a leather jacket's patch panel if you are stitching a vinyl stencil, or the rear window of a van.
It is cut from one colour of vinyl with no background. Black on a pale surface or white on black both suit the style, and the counters in the a, o and e are small, so keep to the mid and larger preset sizes for a clean result. Choose from 19 colours.
