Two identical strips, each a single piece of cut vinyl. The letterforms are heavy and rounded, so the word holds together at the 10cm preset, where the capitals are about 2cm tall for a phone or a headstock; 20cm is the laptop and case size, and custom cuts to 120cm run the length of a van or a wall. No fine lines, no hairlines, nothing to catch when weeding or applying.
The wordmark is the opposite of the spiked and gothic logos elsewhere in this range: a plain, wide, rounded sans in capitals, the kind of type used on 1970s amplifier panels and road signs. For a band that plays slow, heavy, repetitive doom, the plainness is the statement.
Batillus are a doom band from Brooklyn whose album Furnace, released in 2011, is the record most people know them by. The sticker goes on cabs, guitar cases, pedalboards, laptops and the van, and because the letters are so heavy it also works cut large on a rehearsal-room door. Nineteen colours are available; black on a pale surface, white on a dark case.
