Two identical strips, each one piece of cut vinyl about four times wider than it is tall. The letters are heavy enough to hold together at the 10cm preset, and the cracks and chips are cut as gaps, so the surface shows through them. At 20cm it suits a laptop or a case; custom sizes to 120cm are cut for a van side or a wall.

The type is a fat, tightly packed block sans with the damage drawn in: a corner missing from the B, a diagonal fracture through the A, the E and D split by cracks and small chips along the top edges. It reads BATTERED, a band name turned into a logo that illustrates itself, and the heavy forms give it the weight of a stencil sprayed on a flight case.

It goes on drum cases and cabs, laptops, toolboxes, skateboards and the back glass of the van, and it also works as a plain word for a kit bag or a gym locker. Nineteen colours are available; black on light surfaces, white on dark cases, and grey or silver if you want it to read as steel.
