Of all the Bataleon marks in this range, this is the one you have to look at twice. The letters are built like a circuit diagram, all straight lines and right angles, and stacked into a block: BATA across the top, LEO folded in beneath, and the N pulled down into a long vertical tail. It reads once you know the name, and that is the point; it is a mark for people who already ride the boards.
Cut as an outline, so the inside of every stroke is open and the surface shows through. The lines are even in weight and the corners sharp, which gives it the look of a tribal or a geometric tattoo rather than a typeface. Because it is almost square with a tail, it suits a helmet side, a board between the bindings, a laptop corner or a phone.
Bataleon is the Dutch snowboard company from Amsterdam behind Triple Base Technology. Two identical stickers come in each pack, each a single piece of vinyl in one colour. At the 10cm preset the lines are fine, so 15cm or more keeps them crisp; 30cm suits a board or a window; custom sizes to 120cm are cut for a wall. Nineteen colours are available.
