This is the strip for the long edges: the topsheet of a snowboard along the edge, the side of a roof box, a car's rear bumper or the bottom of a rear window, a ski-locker door, the lid of a long board bag. At 55cm it runs most of the way across a tailgate; custom cuts to 120cm cover the length of a board or a van sill.
Nothing fancy about the letterforms, which is the appeal. The capitals are a heavy geometric sans, set so tight they touch, the A and L lock together and the O is a clean oval. Compared with the dripping, scrawled, stacked and maze versions in this range, this is the one that reads from the furthest away and cuts cleanly at the smallest sizes, down to the 10cm preset where the letters are about 1.5cm tall on a helmet or a phone.
Bataleon is the Amsterdam snowboard company behind Triple Base Technology, the 3D base that lifts the side bases off the snow for easier turns and more float. Two identical stickers come in each pack, each a single strip of vinyl in one colour. Nineteen colours are available; white on a dark board, black on a light one, or a colour to match the bindings.
