Three fingers for three bases. Bataleon's Triple Base Technology, TBT for short, shapes a snowboard's base into three planes, a flat centre with the two side bases lifted a few degrees, so the edges stay out of the snow until you tip the board on edge. The hand sign is the shorthand for it, flashed by riders and printed on the boards, and this decal is that sign on its own.
The hand is cut as one solid piece with a few fine lines left open: the creases at the base of the fingers, the outline of the folded thumb and the little finger tucked against the palm. The three raised fingers are long and evenly spaced, so from a distance the shape reads as a W or a trident as much as a hand, which is part of the appeal.
Two identical stickers come in each pack. The usual places are the nose of the board, the back of a helmet, a ski-locker door, a laptop lid and the rear window of the car that does the dawn runs. At the 10cm preset the hand is about 10cm tall; 20–30cm suits a window or a board; custom sizes to 120cm are cut for a wall. Nineteen colours are available; white on a dark board, black on glass or a pale surface.
