When Barbados became independent on 30 November 1966 it needed a flag, and a national competition chose this design by Grantley Prescod, an art teacher from the island: two bands of ultramarine for the sea and the sky, a band of gold for the sand between them, and a black trident in the centre with its shaft broken off, to show the break with the colonial past. The three prongs stand for government of, for and by the people.
This sticker is that flag as a flat rectangle with a soft fold of light across the cloth and the top-right corner lifting and curling over, which adds a little depth without hiding any of the design. It is the plain, straightforward Barbados flag sticker in this range.
It suits a car's rear window, a surfboard, a cricket bat cover, a suitcase, a laptop or a front door on Independence Day. Printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut to the shape with a narrow white border. Two identical stickers per pack.
