The trident on this flag used to have a shaft. On the colonial badge of Barbados, Britannia held a full trident; when the island became independent on 30 November 1966 the new flag kept the head and broke off the shaft, so the symbol of the old power became the symbol of the break from it. The three prongs were given a new meaning too: government of, for and by the people. Around the trident sit the ultramarine of the sea and sky and the gold of the sand.
This is that flag with nothing added: a rectangle of cloth caught in a soft wave, the ripples shaded so the surface looks like real fabric, no pole, no rod and no frame. It is the plain choice for a car's rear window, a surfboard, a cricket bat cover, a suitcase, a laptop lid or a front door for Independence Day.
Printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut to the waving outline with a narrow white border. Two identical stickers per pack, so both sides of a car can carry one.
