Sitting alongside the round rosette in this set, the oval is the one to pick when you want the flag itself to be legible rather than the badge around it. Stretching the frame horizontally lets the three vertical bands — black at the hoist, red through the centre, green at the fly — spread out, and it gives the white emblem room to be read at smaller sizes. The round version crops those bands tightly; this one does not.
The emblem in the red band shows a mosque with its mihrab and minbar, ringed by sheaves of wheat, above the date 1298 in the Solar Hijri calendar. That date marks 1919, the year Afghanistan regained charge of its foreign affairs after the third Anglo-Afghan war. The design shown here is the flag used from 2004 until 2021.
A gold rim runs the full ellipse and two ribbon tails drop from the base. The pack contains two identical stickers, printed in full colour on glossy vinyl and cut to the outline, in sizes from 5–50cm / 2–20in. Peel and stick — no transfer tape. The wider footprint makes them a natural fit for a rear window, a toolbox lid or the flat panel of a flight case.
